Estill Voice Training
Estill Voice Training uses science to teach voice. EVT exercises are effective tools that will reveal the beauty in your voice.
Vocal knowledge is vocal power.
“Everyone has a beautiful voice …you just have to know how to use it!” - Jo Estill.
All of Emily's teaching is informed by the Estill Voice Model, in which she is now certified in the Estill Figure Proficiency. She has completed exams in voice and as she continues her training towards becoming an Estill Voice Master, she continues to draw from her ever growing base of knowledge of the voice.

Picking the right vocal coach
Why Emily? Having a vocal coach who not only uses her voice professionally, but understands what is needed to safely produce a desired sound as a teacher means that she will ensure you are set up with the technique to not only access, but push the boundaries and range of your voice, while also strengthening the voice you already have in terms of tone, pitch and resonance, and most importantly portraying the message of a song.
Drawing on her years of experience as a musical theatre performer and vocalist, and as a teacher for group musical theatre lessons, vocal and performance preparation for London College of Music exams and one on one vocal coaching, Emily can provide you with a skill set informed by the Estill model to access your voice, with focus on vocal health and voice placement.
Adults & Children
You have been gifted with an instrument from birth - the voice. And no voice is exactly the same. Whether you have a child with a natural ear and you wish for them to explore and build on their potential while building confidence, or an adult who has always wanted to sing but never took the leap, Emily can work with your strengths and build up your weaknesses to create a solid foundation with an emphasis on vocal health and technique.
Combatting Nerves:
''What do I feel?''...not ''What do I hear?''
Nerves are a good thing…it means we care, and we have something important to gain. Unfortunately, the larynx is where we hold a lot of our emotions and tensions, and if we do not have an understanding of the control over our vocal facility, the nerves can call the shots. Therefore, focusing on what you feel, as opposed to what you hear means you can learn to control aspects of your vocal set up you can rely despite the nerves.
Coaching catered to your needs:
Emily’s role as your vocal coach will be to support you in your journey to accessing your voice, develop and nurture your talent, and ensure you are equipped with the right tools for any performance.

Vocal Anxiety:
Knowing you can trust your voice is liberating!
Vocal Anxiety can be a real and debilitating thing. As a baby we can scream and cry for hours without losing our voices. However as we grow, our environment influences our ‘default’ vocal settings, and should anxiety come into play, it can have a major effect on how we use our voice in both speech and singing. Learning to access the voice, especially when suffering with anxiety can help tackle that state, and leave you with the tools to both speak and sing with more confidence and assurance that you can do yourself justice.
